There are three formats for presentations:

99 Seconds

That's all the time the presenter, or a group of presenters, has to communicate that one little nugget of information to enlighten us all. It's a fast race to the finish line for the presenters-but you'll be amazed at how much can be packed into 99 seconds. This format is highly entertaining for attendees and a lot of fun for the presenters. No handouts are associated with format.

PechaKucha

PechaKucha (Japanese for "chit-chat") is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (six minutes and 40 seconds total). Go to YouTube for examples and how-tos. The format, which keeps presentations concise and fast-paced, traditionally uses graphics with no (or very few) "projected" words. Presenters provide voice-over as needed. The 20 slides must be set to automatically proceed every 20 seconds while the slides are presented live. No handouts are associated with format.

Cracker-barrel

The old-timers shared information around a cracker barrel, why not us? In this format, attendees circulate from table to table, hear a 10-minute presentation from the table host, then participate in a 10-minute discussion. Table hosts can share a project, a model, an emerging trend, a tool, or anything else of interest to colleagues -- including picking your colleagues' brains! If you're an attendee, you can learn from some of the best practitioners in ISPI.
