Do your learners just “next” through your e-learning to check off completion? Is transfer of new knowledge to the job not happening as you’d hoped? There may be a better way!

What if you could convert your e-learning courses from one-time training events to ongoing learning solutions that support performance on the job? Using a software training case study, Innovative Learning Group Lead Instructional Designer and Learning Consultant Susan Fisher will show how conventional e-learning content can be repurposed to meet Gottfredson & Mosher’s Five Moments of Learning Need with the technology you already have.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain why a typical e-learning course does not effectively support performance.
  • Define Gottfredson & Mosher's Five Moments of Learning Need (5 MoN) and explain their Performance Support Pyramid.
  • Map content from an e-learning course to the appropriate moments of learning need.
  • Recognize best practices for editing and formatting content to serve performance support, explanation, reinforcement, and reference purposes.
  • Describe ways to use your authoring and delivery technologies to make the content accessible at each moment of need.
