Do you want to increase your ability to REALLY understand your learners and customers?

If so, come and immerse yourself in an empathic design experience.

Empathy is our ability to see the world through other people's eyes. This includes seeing what they see, feeling what they feel, and experience things in the way our customers (our learners) do. While we can't fully experience things the way a learner will, we can attempt to get as close as possible. We do this by putting aside our own preconceived ideas and choosing to understand the ideas, thoughts, and needs of the learner.

Empathy is important for instructional designers because it allows us to truly understand and uncover the latent needs and emotions of the people we are designing learnin for. As such, we can design learnin interventions that meet the three parameters of a successful learnin product or learning service: desirability, feasibility and viability. This can translate into increased performance, ROI and key business results.

Participants will understand the role empathy and empathic design play in improving learning and performance and will walk away with the ability to use an empathic design tool in their design and performance improvement processes. This experiential session will employ activities throughout.
