In LinkedIn Learning's 2018 Industry Report, they found that 2 out of 3 people in talent development wouldn't recommend the programs and tools they create to their customers. Let's explore the tools you can use to create learning and development products you and your learners will love.

With record-low unemployment, challenges over filling critical roles, and employee expectations over consumer-grade experiences in the workplace the quality of the “employee experience” has become a focus of many companies, with Forbes even declaring 2018 the year of “Employee Experience.” With that shift in the environment, L&D has an opportunity to transform from a mandatory activity to a key differentiator in hiring and retaining the best talent through delivering on great learner experience (LX). Join us for a discussion on what happens when user experience (UX) and learning & development start to work together.

Here’s what we’ll cover: What is learner experience and what does it mean to treat learning like a product? How can I include the voice of the learner into my existing processes? What are the tools and methodologies to support learner experience? How do I adjust my skill set as a talent and performance professional to address learner experience?

At the end of this session, attendees will learn a model for reframing the solutions they create as a product, describe some learner experience tools they can use back on the job, and do some light practice on empathy interviewing.

About this Speaker

Matthew Daniel is a high-energy, no-holds-barred, tell-it-like-it-is learning technologist and consultant with nearly 15 years of experience with seven Fortune 100s, including companies like Nike, Microsoft, Cigna Healthcare, Capital One, and General Motors. While he’s designed learning programs and implemented dozens of learning systems, his biggest success comes not in the implementation of the system or instructional design, but in helping learning professionals figure out how to take their existing skills and experience and adapt to the digital age.

Matthew believes in building incredible learning experiences, not just events – that all begins with good learning design, but it has to be wrapped in incredible user experience. Matthew consults with learning tech companies on product design, consults on learner experience transformation, and (hopefully) inspires learning professionals to adopt new technologies and create amazing experiences to transform the lives of our learners.
